What Is IMS?
IMS is a total system for the diagnosis and treatment of myofascial pain syndromes.
Such a pain occurs when there’s a nervous disorder following a wound or tissue irritation. In this condition, the tips of your nerves become overly sensitive and start interpreting normal sensations as pain.
IMS involves dry needling of the affected area without injecting any substances. IMS treatment is based on lengthening a muscle by stimulating the stretch receptors, increasing blood flow to the area and improve nerve stimulation to optimize its function.
